We have now closed permanently.

It is with immense regret that the team at the Lickfold Inn near Petworth, West Sussex, have to announce the closure of the business with immediate effect.

Having purchased the historic inn seven years ago, the current management has worked tirelessly to establish the property as a centre of culinary excellence as well as a core part of the local community.

However, the past two years have seen unprecedented challenges for everyone within the hospitality industry. Major disruption due to the Covid pandemic – coupled with spiralling energy bills and ongoing difficulties in recruiting staff – mean that the future of the Lickfold Inn has become unsustainable.

The business’s management would like to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to all customers, suppliers and staff for their outstanding support during such challenging times. While the factors leading to the closure of the business have been entirely beyond the team’s control, they are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience that may be caused by today’s decision.
